It’s that time of year again. On October 27, Access will once again host Walk Together Logan, the city’s loudest demonstration of its unity and vision of a shared, inclusive future for all Australians, from all walks of life.

Walk Together is a national event initiated by the Welcome to Australia movement wherein every year, thousands of Australians gather in cities and towns throughout the country to walk together in solidarity of newly arrived refugees and migrants. It also presents a means whereby communities say welcome to their newest arrivals.

This year, Walk Together is held as part of National Unity Week taking place from 20 - 27 October. In 2018, we officially join with Logan City Council, Reconciliation Queensland Inc and First Nations Peoples to welcome all our newest Australians.

The Walk will begin from the Logan City Tenpin at 11am and will end with a free celebration at The Access Gateway (91 Wembley Street, Logan Central) from 11.30am to 1:30pm. The celebration will feature live music, food and entertainment, and is open to the entire community.

Registrations for the walk will take place from 10.00 to 11.00am

Walkers are invited to dress in traditional attire and are encouraged to keep hydrated, and take precautions against the sun.

Come join Access for the walk that celebrates our diversity and belonging in Logan City - the proclamation that whatever the roads we have travelled to get here, we are all equal when we do.
