After migrating from Mexico to Australia ten years ago, Cindy knew it was time for a change – she wanted to move up the career ladder.
The Yarrabilba local already had a Certificate III in Education Support and was working casually as a teacher’s aide, but her other ‘job’ as a mother hindered her from taking that next step. But then – she was linked up with Access’ ParentsNext service.
To help boost her confidence, motivation and help her choose a new career pathway, Cindy has been referred into the ‘Onwards & Upwards’ mentoring program at Fair Go Australia by her caseworker and Access employee, Diana, which has greatly helped Cindy on her employment journey.
Earlier this year, Cindy enrolled in a Diploma of Community Services. Through ParentsNext, Access have been able to pay Cindy’s enrolment fee and purchase a laptop for her to be able to study online from home, while campuses are closed.
“I am really enjoying my studies and I’m inspired and grateful for the support I have received from Access,” she says.
“Not only have I been supported through my studies, but I have been assisted in home-schooling my eldest child while schools were closed.
“I look forward to seeing where my studies will take me in the future!”
Congratulations Cindy! We’re look forward to supporting you on your journey!
