Get full Access with SSI!

The Access logo and brand is being retired from February 20, 2023, in place of a new and updated logo and brand - SSI. You will see more information soon on what this means for the Access website.

Access has been an important part of Settlement Services International (SSI) since 2018. We share the same values, and now we share the same brand.

We are the same people, offering the same dedicated support to new arrivals, local communities, individuals, families and children. So, all the support and programs you have come to know through Access will remain. They will just be under our new brand, SSI.

Our new brand reflects the start of a new chapter in our story.

Since Access joined forces with SSI in 2018, we have worked together to help create a more inclusive society where everyone can contribute meaningfully to social, cultural, civic and economic life.

In the last ten years, we have expanded into Victoria and grown significantly. We have diversified into sectors like employment, disability, family preservation, home care, social enterprise and training. While settlement remains an important part of what we do, our story has grown significantly and so has our purpose.

SSI stands for equality of life

Our purpose is to create a world in which everyone has an equal opportunity to achieve their potential in life.

About our new brand

Our new brand captures our growth and purpose, and what we do to help create a more inclusive society.

Why equality?

We all strive for a better quality of life. At SSI, we believe this is possible when we seek a better ‘equality’ of life.

SSI offers human services that connect people with opportunity, engage with the community and provide support through lived experience.

At the heart of our organisation is a drive for equality, empathy and celebration of every individual – no matter where they were born, their gender, ability, age, sexuality, faith or ethnicity.

The two yellow orbs in our new logo represent both balance and equality.

What does SSI stand for?

  • fully realised lives
  • a world in which everyone has equal access to opportunity
  • making it no matter where you were born, your gender, ability, sexuality, race
  • making all Australians, new and old, feel welcomed
  • a life lived without discrimination
  • helping people with empathy and understanding
  • empowering people to change their own lives

FAQ's

What does SSI stand for?

SSI is the acronym of our legal company name, Settlement Services International Limited. But most people refer to us as simply, SSI which you'll now see on our logo, print and digital communications across Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

Why did SSI and Access refresh its brand?

Over the years SSI has grown significantly, expanding our focus to offer a wide range of life-changing human and social services. Part of this growth included merging with Access and opening in Melbourne, both of which occurred in 2018. Today, we're more than just settlement services alone. As such, our purpose has also grown.

To reflect this expansion more accurately and help promote our greater purpose, we're unifying our organisation under a single brand with a new look and tagline. It's a little change to reflect our bigger purpose.

What does the tagline “For equality of life” mean?

Our new tagline is 'For equality of life'. We all strive for a better quality of life. At SSI, we believe this is possible when we seek a better ‘equality’ of life. We've grown to ensure we are empowering people to improve the potential in their lives by embracing lived experience and the depths of experience present in communities.

At the heart of our organisation is a drive for equality, empathy and celebration of every individual.

What does this new look mean to clients, partners and our communities?

We are the same people, offering the same dedicated support to new arrivals, local communities, individuals, families and children.

Our new logo and brand represent SSI’s and Access’ evolution – from a settlement and migration agency to an organisation that offers a diverse range of human services and promotes equal opportunities for all.

We have diversified our services into sectors like employment, disability, family preservation and at-home aged care, social enterprise and training. Our new look and purpose capture this growth and what we do to help create a more inclusive society together with our partners and communities.

Is SSI replacing the name of Settlement Services International?

Settlement Services International Limited (SSI) is the official name of our parent company. The acronym, SSI is our public facing brand. Some people have already been referring to us as SSI or as Access and SSI. So, to keep things simple and consistent, we will now use one brand for all the entities within the SSI Group (this includes Settlement Services International Limited and Access Community Services Limited and Access Community Enterprises Limited). We will refer to ourselves as SSI, and we invite you to do so too.

The legal name Settlement Services International and the legal names of SSI’s subsidiaries will not be changing. We have a new brand but will be operating under the same corporate structure.

What will happen to Access and its programs?

We are the same people, offering the same dedicated support to new arrivals, local communities, individuals, families and children. And all the support and programs you have come to know through Access will remain. They will just be under our new brand, SSI.

Will any SSI or Access’ services be impacted?

Our new brand will not have any impact on any SSI or Access’ services.

We are just keeping things simple and easy for everyone, so we will just be referring to ourselves as SSI and as SSI programs and services.

Will my caseworker change?

Your caseworker will not change as a result of the brand update. Our new brand will not have an impact on our service delivery or support to existing clients.

What will happen to the Access website?

We are moving all of our programs onto the one SSI website so you can get full access to all things SSI in one place. If you are looking for any information relevant to one of our programs, services or our community, please visit www.ssi.org.au

If there is something you cannot find, please let us know via our Contact Us page.

Will I still be greeted by the same staff I’ve got to know on the phone, at office receptions or at The Gateway?

Yes, we continue to be the same locally-led people, offering the same dedicated support to new arrivals, local communities, individuals, families and children.

Where does Ignite fit within the new structure?

Ignite Small Business Start-ups is a social enterprise developed by SSI. Ignite remains as its own brand with its own suite of programs and services. You can learn more about Ignite on their website here.

My organisation provides funding/services/works with SSI and/or Access, do I need to make any changes to invoices or contracts issued with SSI and/or Access?
