The Settlement and Transition Team have been busy little elves these past few weeks, delivering Christmas cheer and gifts to their child clients with the help of Lighthouse Care.
Our caseworkers helped 20 children write ‘letters to Santa’ with their Christmas wishes, which were then sent to Lighthouse Care who purchased gifts which matched each letter. Our SETs team then delivered the gift to their clients, and it isn’t hard to imagine the joy and excitement when they found out Santa had heard and granted their wishes!
These children are some of Access newest arrivals. They have been in Australia as refugees for less than two years and often have to forgo presents from Santa as food, bills and other crucial necessities must be prioritised. We are so grateful to Lighthouse Care for helping us spread the festive spirit, and ensure every family has a happy Christmas.
