CEO Gail Ker OAM was once again selected as an Australia Day Ambassador for 2018, a program which sees over 300 Ambassadors visit towns and cities across the nation to inspire and unite communities on Australia Day. This year, Gail and Leanne Tu’ipulotu travelled 1,500km to Hughenden, a small remote community in North Western Queensland with a population of 1,136 people. Gail and Leanne were warmly welcomed by the Flinders Shire Council Mayor, Jane McNamara, before attending a community breakfast where Gail proudly delivered a keynote speech explaining the value migration and cultural diversity has on communities across Australia. Gail was also honoured to present the Australia Day Awards to Hughenden’s deserving citizens with Mayor McNamara.
