This term, students from Chisholm High School have been volunteering at Access as part of the school’s ‘Liberation Letters’ program. Every Tuesday, 3-4 students come to The Access Gateway to give our clients private English lessons. It is very popular amongst the Chisholm students, with over 15 volunteers participating. The students have expressed positivity at our clients’ engaging, hardworking attitude as well as their appreciation for the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds. Access has also received very positive feedback from our clients, who enjoy working with young people and receiving further individualised assistance with their English. Throughout the term, participating clients have dramatically improved their English skills and confidence. A big thank you to the teachers and students from Chisholm High School for helping create this wonderful initiative.
